Those of you who shudder at the thought of video game-to-movie conversions might be able to breathe a sigh of relief: The potentially looming Screen Actors Guild strike is becoming only the latest obstacle blocking the planned Castlevania movie from coming to life. The production company responsible for the Castlevania movie has been sold by NBC Universal and is no longer working on the movie, and last year’s Writer’s Guild strike has already delayed the process further. Paul W.S. Anderson had the following to say about his upcoming project:
“We still want to make the movie, but I can’t say we’re going into production in January or anything like that. It’s a project that everybody likes. I love the videogame. I think the script is really strong. Everyone is really enthusiastic about it, but we’re still in the process of deciding when the movie gets shot.”
In other news, Anderson is no longer committed to the Spy Hunter film, as the script he saw was not worth his time.
