A few weeks ago, the Master System/Game Gear version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released on the Japanese Virtual Console service. Not too long ago, a second version of Sonic 2 was rated by the ESRB for Wii, and since the Genesis version is already available, the natural assumption is that North America will be getting the Master System version too.
Fun fact: The Master System version of Sonic 2 actually came out before the Genesis version, so this game was technically the first appearance of Tails. Do you feel like you’ve been lied to for the past 16 years? (There, there….)
