American Club Nintendo site opens, service coming soon

As promised in October, the Club Nintendo website is now live. If you haven’t been paying attention, Club Nintendo is a service that allows you to get points which can be exchanged for fabulous prizes by registering games or completing surveys. The site even has a list of what you can expect from the service:

  • Earn Coins for registering Nintendo products and completing surveys
  • Redeem Coins for limited edition Rewards
  • Earn a set amount of Coins each year to gain Gold and Platinum status
  • Create a Family Account and invite members of your family to join
  • Register your newly purchased Wii console or Nintendo DS on Club Nintendo and extend your warranty
There’s no date set for when the service will be available, but it was promised by the end of the year so it should be pretty soon.

Any word on those of us who already have a bunch of stuff registered, or is Nintendo just gonna screw us over?

No word on whether it’ll be retroactive. Club Nintendo is completely replacing the current My Nintendo, though.

Bummer if those 40 games I own can’t be registered in the club. That would suck.
