Next month, Japanese Wii owners will have the option to buy manga to read on their Wiis. The first title released will be Princess Ai. The first three chapters will cost 500 Nintendo Points and the rest of the chapters will come in pairs that each cost 200 points. With 15 chapters, the entire series will cost 1700 points, or $17.

So what are the chances of a North American release? Well, the manga will be available in Japan in both Japanese and English. That could be a sign that Nintendo and Sunsoft are open to an international release.

Princess Ai is the story of a amnesiac girl who wakes up in present day Tokyo, with nothing but a heart-shaped box and her name as clues to her identity. The manga will become available on the WiiWare service in Japan on January 6th.
