Club Nintendo heads Stateside

Nintendo has announced that they will be bringing their Club Nintendo service to North America. For those who may be unfamiliar with Club Nintendo, it’s a service that rewards points for doing certain things, such as buying games or completing surveys. The points can then be exchanged for various prizes. These prizes can range from things like computer wallpapers, to larger prizes such as t-shirts, soundtrack CDs, and even exclusive games.
The service is set to hit North America by the end of the year. Really, how hard is it to get excited at the prospect of free stuff?

I wonder if I can get retroactive points for my previous 9 Wii game purchases?
Don’t get too excited guys, it takes ages to save up for something worth getting. Case in point; Kirby and The Amazing Mirror (GBA) came up on the rewards shop not too long ago. Great game right? But probably quite cheap now. How many Wii or DS games would you have to buy to earn it? 3? 4? 5?
No.
Twenty.
So that’s roughly $800 or something?
Hey it’s better than nothing that’s for sure. Not like it costs us anything extra to do it.
