Sega is bringing their popular Phantasy Star series to the Nintendo DS as early as this winter (for Japan). The game, titled PS0, will feature the standard single player mode, as well as four player local and Wi-Fi play.

Gameplay specific details are still pretty slim at this point, but the inclusion of a Picto Chat-like communication system has been revealed. Players can doodle on the bottom screen, and their pictures will appear in game above their character’s head. Pretty sweet, if you can draw.
