I missed out on the supposed Golden Age of gaming. 8-bit? 16-bit? Yeah, I was around – I had an Atari and an NES, but I wasn’t really a gamer until Ocarina. Looks like I missed out on a lot of the super hard games, like Mega Man. Hironobu Takeshita, the producer behind Mega Man 9, explains that they wanted to bring back that difficulty.
Mega Man 9 is very hard. We didn’t want to do Mega Man, but easy. We want players to get better, we want them to remember. I’ve always tried to challenge players, and I think there are gamers who miss being challenged by games.
See, that’s where all the gameplay hours will come from. Trying, and retrying. I barely got anywhere in the E3 demo!
