Black Knight confirms: Sonic is the new Thomas Ian Nicholas

Anyone remember the movie A Kid in Aladdin’s Palace, starring Thomas Ian Nicholas as Calvin Fuller? Last year’s Sonic and the Secret Rings kind of reminded me of that movie, with the whole throwing of a “modern” character into the universe of Scheherazade. The movie, though, was a sequel to 1995′s A Kid in King Arthur’s Court – you know, with all the no-names like Thomas Ian Nicholas, Kate Winslet, and Daniel Craig. Coincidentally, Camelot is just where Sonic and the Black Knight is headed come spring of next year:

Sonic returns to the Wii™ on a wild ride through a storybook world of Arthurian legend in his all-new adventure, Sonic and the Black Knight™. Designed exclusively for the Wii, Sonic and the Black Knight brings a new twist to Sonic gameplay by combining Sonic’s legendary speed with frenetic swordplay action that makes full use of the unique Wii control system.

In this strange, enchanted medieval world, Sonic wields a sword in his effort to save the day. Encountering many friends and foes along the way, Sonic shows them what it takes to be a true hero and the ultimate knight. Master the sword and unravel the mystery behind this intriguing adventure…

That’s the definitive confirmation, straight from the game’s official listing on SEGA.com. What do you think? Knuckles as Lancelot? Tails as Merlin? Monty Python’s Black Knight as… the Black Knight?
