Capcom Press Conference – Live Blog

Ready for some live blogging straight from Capcom’s E3 Press Conference? It looks like it’s going to be some sort of panel discussion, so read on past the break for all the updates!

4:30 – Scheduled start time.

4:51 – The Tanooki walks into the conference room!

4:56 – Conference starts.

4:58 – Lost Planet: The Movie announced. Trailer of the Lost Planet game shown to “refresh our memory.”

5:01 – Production cast for movie comes on stage.

5:02 – Avi Arad, Chairman of Arad Productions, Inc. talks about Lost Planet having every element that makes a good movie.

5:10 – Screenwriter David Hayter begins talking about how he was brought on to the project and immediate became excited about the project, especially after he got a free copy of the game.

5:13 – Ari Arad, President of Arad Productions introduced, then introduces Keiji Inafune.

5:13 – Keiji Inafune explains that in making Lost Planet, their intent was to create an experience on par with that of a Hollywood movie. In fact, they wanted a project that could eventually be turned into a real movie. They understood movies needed deep stories, love-related plots, and big robots.

5:22 – Steven Paul talks briefly, reiterating how the movie was a great idea, given all the aspects of the game that lend itself to a good movie.

5:23 – Tetsu Fujimura speaks about how great it is to have everyone at the discussion table on board for this project.

5:26 – Haruhiro Tsuijimoto, President and COO of Capcom, speaks about his hopes for making Lost Planet: The Movie a successful project.

5:30 – Final applause and thanks. Conference ends.
