Need training for medical school? The Wii Remote can help!

Do those of you in medical school have issues with current laparoscopic training? Well the Wii remote is coming to the rescue! Rather than spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on typical training devices, a pilot study at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix found that by playing the specially adapted Wii, residents’ skills improved by 50 percent.

This gives us a much less costly way to train on these fine motor skills that the surgeons employ in surgery, they develop an increased efficiency, less errors, more fluid movement. Basically, they’re just better.

It looks like Trauma Center isn’t the only surgery simulator in town. With force feedback, and ways to track a test subjects precise movements, should make training a lot more effective. Not only that, but it can also make staying after class FUN.

I believe you could! Question is...you any good at the board game "Operation?" I always had trouble with that darn Charlie Horse.

I play Metroid Prime 3 frequently, therefore I have the fine motor skills necessary to become a surgeon.

    Right?
