Slammed Again: Nintendo sued for patent infringment
Looks like the patent squatters are at it again! This time they are taking a stab at collecting some of that newly printed money from the Nintendo DS. A man named John R. Martin has stated that Nintendo has stolen his touch screen and pointing device gaming technology patent in August, 2005.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Nintendo DS actually came out before this patent was filed. And is it me, or does this picture look like one of them “old-school” sewing machines, or like the orignal Donkey Kong cabinets? I have no idea how John R. can possibly win this one.

bahahahahahahahahaha
hah
dork
I can’t see the resemblance between that table thingy and a DS…
it does look like it has a hinge and the touch screen looking part is on the bottom of the hinged section…that’s about where any resemblance stops…
this is crazy, any nut that filed a patent for anything is suing, even though the patent is so vague, it could be used to describe the iphone ffs.
These kind of lawsuits are such a plague on the judicial system. This is why intellectual property law is so hot right now. Sue a big company and some smaller ones, and the biggies will probably just settle out of court even if you’re in the wrong. I hope nintendo doesn’t do that for this.
