SEGA sponsors first all-Sonic convention

SEGA has announced their sponsoring of the first-ever Sonic convention, “Summer of Sonic,” to be held on August 9th at the Covent Garden Dragon Hall Trust in Central London.

There will be a Games Center for those wishing to play video games with or against fellow convention-goers, an Artwork Corner to show off your fan art, Artist and Merchandise showcases, and contests for everyone to win prizes. In addition, SEGA of Europe will be providing playable stations featuring some of the latest Sonic games, including “one or two that aren’t necessarily released yet.”

There will also be a few “special guests” at the event (I hear Sonic the Hedgehog is one of them). As one of the biggest Sonic fans growing up, you can guess I’m bummed to not be able to afford a trip all the way out to London. For those of you who can go, you’ll need to pre-register at the site below. As thanks for the heads up, I expect some of you to send me some goodies from the convention.

That ‘Cream the Rabbit’ picture scares me a little.
