Almost two years ago, Anascape, Ltd. sued Nintendo of America for patent infringement of Anascape’s game controller design. Nintendo lost that lawsuit last month for evidence against the GameCube controller, WaveBird, and Wii Classic controller designs and was ordered to pay $21 million. Nintendo hoped to appeal the decision and lower the amount they would have to pay Anascape, but they were denied a few days ago, and will have to pay the $21m.
Anyone remember even hearing about the first lawsuit? I sure don’t. But then again, this site didn’t even exist at the time…
