World Tour DLC to be stored on SD cards

080624rocksd.jpgRemember when Nintendo said the SD slot reader was far too slow to allow playing of NES games stored on the cards? Apparently, it’s still fast enough to be running downloaded Guitar Hero songs off the lil’ boogers.

Karthik Bala, CEO of Vicarious Visions (aka Guitar Hero III, Aerosmith, On Tour, World Tour developer), has confirmed that Guitar Hero: World Tour for the Wii will indeed allow for downloadable content as promised. Interestingly, they’re not planning on Nintendo offering a hardware storage solution in the near future and are thus allowing files to be accessed from the SD card.

Players can either download songs to the Wii System Memory or store songs on a SD Card, called the “Rock Archive”. When you want to play songs from the Rock Archive, players can create a custom set list, and then choose a venue and play!

There’s more talk about World Tour in the interview link below, so feel free to head over and check it out.
