A casual game a day keeps the cigarettes away

080620smoking.jpgA new study by the Information Solutions Group reveals that among a group of 4,537 people surveyed, a sizable portion of the 1,324 smokers in the group say that casual games keep them busy and away from the nicotine. About 42 percent said casual games (which likely include games such as Brain Age) definitely provide a distraction from smoking, and about the same amount said they were actively using casual games to reduce their habits.

I guess we all have a new reason to love casual games. Their success means cleaner air for all of us!

The same study found 2,784 of the respondents saying they watched their weight, and 60% of that number used games to keep them away from overeating and unnecessary snacking. The survey ended back on January 11, so I would imagine this statistic to see a slight climb now that Wii Fit is available, don’t you think?
