Nintendo might have “Touch Generations”, but Ubisoft has joined the Sports Party with it’s own casual gaming label called “Play Zone.” Sports Party will consist of nine different sports party games: 3 versions of Basketball, croquet, lawn darts, badminton, volley-ball, horse shoes, and mini-golf.
Well, another publisher has decided to put more eggs into the “casual” gaming market. Even thought the Wii is getting praised for its interactivity and encouraging gamers to get of the couch, it seems like its counter-productive to make all these “outdoor” mini-games playable “indoors.” I guess it’s better than trying to play horseshoes inside your house, and breaking your rare R.O.B. that you are proudly displaying in your living room.

UBISOFT LAUNCHES NEW PLAY ZONE LABEL
Sports Party, first PLAY ZONE game for friends and family to enjoy exclusively on WiiTMLondon, UK– June 19th, 2008– Today Ubisoft announced that it will launch a new Wii exclusive party-games range under the label PLAY ZONE. Sports Party will be the first game to be released within the PLAY ZONE label. With 3 different difficulty levels and using intuitive gestures with the Wii Remote the games can be enjoyed again and again.
