Rumor: Freeloader killed in firmware 3.3 massacre

hospital-bed1.jpg

The firmware update issued for the Wii last night, which brought the Wii Menu to version 3.3, might have done more to the homebrew scene than we originally thought. In addition to the Twilight Princess hack being removed, Datel’s popular tool Freeloader, which is a disc used to make Wii games region-free, may have received the axe as well. It was incredibly popular in Australia and Europe since gamers in those regions usually get games months after their release in Japanese and American territories. No confirmation has been released, so throw this in the rumor bin for now.

Also, if you already had the Homebrew Channel installed, it should still work.
