It’s been a confusing day in regards to what we can believe, and what we can’t. The leaks from NeoGAF all day? Take ‘em with a grain of salt. The existence of Mega Man 9? Fact. As for this little tidbit, stick it in the likely-though-still-rumor pile.
Mega Man 9 is reportedly definitely coming to the Wii, and all major home consoles – including the 360 and PS3. It’s supposed to be a downloadable title on the latter two platforms, but given the Wii storage issue, we could be looking at either a WiiWare release or, more likely, a retail hard copy. More rumors:
- The graphics will resemble the 8-bit style of old.
- Rockman (Mega Man) and Blues (ProtoMan) will be playable and have different storylines.
- The game does NOT bridge the original series and the X series.
- New characters, new supporting characters, and new Robot Masters.
- Actual gameplay resembles Mega Man 3 through Mega Man 6.
- Online leaderboards and online play.
I’ve actually been listening to a lot of the Mega Man soundtracks as of late, so I’m getting a little excited. Maybe I should play all the games I haven’t before this new one comes out?
