So much for keeping Team Ninja intact. As many as 36 key members of Tomonobu Itagaki’s former studio, Team Ninja, are rumored to be joining Itagaki and leaving the company. Sure, it’s one thing to lose one key figure, but losing a chunk of this size from one of your development teams has got to be ruffling some features up in Tecmo’s offices… especially when every single one of those employees will also be filing lawsuits against their former company.
What’s worse for Tecmo is that Japanese law apparently requires that any complaints against public companies need to be reported publicly on the same day. Itagaki filed his complaint on May 14th, while there seems to be no indication that Tecmo informed shareholders before Itagaki’s announcement on June 2. Slap on the hand, Tecmo.
