Nyko taken to court over knock off Nunchuk

Nintendo had never taken a third party to court over controllers for their system, until now. Nyko didn’t change enough in Nintendo’s eyes with their wireless Kama Nunchuk, as Nintendo is claiming the product:

Wholly appropriates the novel shape, design, overall appearance and even the color and materials used in the Nintendo Nunchuk controller.

Make this a warning all those third party accessory designers out there, stay away from white, as well as plastic, if you can. Those are Nintendo’s.

    It’s not a question of whether or not it’s a good solution. It’s the fact that it looks so similar to the original that it can cause potential consumer confusion.

    Well I guess there might be a potential Licensed product soon, which would add more consumer confusion =P

    That is an unfortunate situation, since it is a good idea. Too bad they didn’t negotiate beforehand, but I doubt that we won’t see it again somehow.
