Call of Duty returning to World War II
I’m not big on war shooters, but now that we know Call of Duty: World at War is on the way, it’s time for some deets. Treyarch, who developed CoD3, will be bringing the series back to a World War II setting, while using Infinity Ward’s game engine from CoD4. Players will take on the Japanese in the Pacific and the Germans while moving in from Russia.
While the Xbox 360 version has been confirmed to include 4-player co-op play online, this has yet to be confirmed for any other version. You can expect the game to be released on the DS and Wii either later this year or before the end of the first quarter next year, enjoying about a year’s worth more development time than Treyarch had with Call of Duty 3.
