Homemade Super Mario mosaics (sans Tanooki)

I used to take Latin in high school. In addition to learning tips such as “semper ubi sub ubi” and poetry by Horace, I went on field trips to these “Junior Classical League” conventions each year. I participated in the model-making contests each year (big surprise, huh?) but always took a look at the other art projects, which usually included a large collection of mosaics. Those things were impressive.

Lucas de Camillo has taken the art and thrown in a little bit of Mario. You can check out more pics after the break showing a pixelated mosaic item box, fire flower, and goomba, and how exactly Lucas went about planning them. You also check out his Flickr collection for more.
