It prints money: Nintendo has a 9-year-long profit
It’s no surprise that the PlayStation 2 has blown all other consoles out of the water in terms of sales and popularity, but did Sony really win the last generation console war? Even though the little purple/black GameCube might have been in fewer homes, Nintendo had a winner on its hands in terms of total profit. What is even more shocking, is the how much the original Xbox put Microsoft in the hole. While total sales may be important, one must remember that the company must make a profit to stay in the business.
