
While news of the dollar’s downward spiral is surely nothing new to anyone, the economic monster has reared its ugly head in the Nintendo world once again. Analyst Michael Pachter estimates that for every one Wii Fit unit shipped the US, four have gone to Europe.
The shortage demonstrates one consequence of the weak dollar. We’re seeing companies ignore their largest market simply because they can make a greater profit elsewhere.
I guess there is no arguing with smart business. Why sell the same product for a reduced profit, when it’s basically guaranteed to sell anywhere? Looks like some gamers will just have to be patient. I suggest doing some yoga and strength exercises on a standard bathroom scale to tide you over.
