Friday Night Concerts: Castlevania Orchestral Suite
The Play! Symphony is one of the premiere orchestras specializing in video game music. This week, we’ll listen to their performance of “Castlevania Orchestral Suite,” a collection of some of the more popular Castlevinia melodies. They’ve even managed to throw in “A Toccata into Blood Soaked Darkness” - then again, what Castlevania performance would be complete without it?
The original game’s music was composed by Kinuyo Yamashita, though Michiru Yamane has helmed the majority of the series’ compositions. Both are among the better known female composers in the business.

What game is Toccata from? I didn’t recognize it.
Also, when it showed pics from portrait of ruin, I didn’t recognize what they were playing, which is weird because I have that game and think it is the best Castlevania ever (except maybe Dawn of sorrow)
I love the music from this series so much. I think they should have stuck some clips of Symphony of the Night up there though alongside Portrait of Ruin.
