The Wii has reached yet another milestone in its short, but insanely successful life: six-million sold in Japan. Enterbrain, who has recorded hardware and software statistics in Japan since 1996, points out that no other console has accomplished a feat in such a short span of time. Its nearest competitor, Sony’s Playstation 3, has sold a respectable 2.06 million.

On the software side, Wii Fit has topped two-million units sold, making it the third Nintendo game in Japan to do so. The other two being Wii Sports and Wii Play.
