Guitar Hero IV drums appear in latest Game Informer

The latest issue of Game Informer has the scoop on the upcoming Guitar Hero IV; including how their newly added peripherals will look. At first glance you’ll notice only three pads, but if you look a little above there are two “cymbals.” They look a bit awkward to me, but they had to compete with Rock Band somehow. This begs the question, again: how do they expect one to fit all of these plastic instruments in their rooms?

Ok. So this needs to be backwards compatible with Rock Band so I can sell my rock band drums and use this. i refuse to have two bulky drum sets in my room! (though I’ll buy it anyway.)

Also note, on the new guitars, it is rumored (or confirmed, whatever) that the new “transparent note” that comes down is actually just a strum with no buttons pressed. I hope that’s not that they are trying to patent. I mean, really.

Yeah as much as I doubt that I’ll be buying Guitar Hero IV (I like Rock Band too much) if I were to buy it I wouldn’t want all these drum sets bogging up my house.
