WiiWare launch titles revealed; Mario is missing!

No, no, not Mario Is Missing the game. Monday’s press release from Nintendo has leaked, and it reveals that Dr. Mario Online RX won’t make the opening day roster. On top of that, there won’t be any Virtual Console games for North America this Monday. Looks like it’s a no-go for a Mother’s Day theme.

No need to pout, though. Final Fantasy headlines the launch list, shown below:

  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Square Enix, 1500 Wii Points)
  • LostWinds (Frontier Developmen, 1000 Wii Points)
  • Defend your Castle (XGen Studios, 500 Wii Points)
  • Pop (Nnooo, 700 Wii Points)
  • V.I.P. Casino: Blackjack (High Voltage Software, 700 Wii Points)
  • TV Show King (Gameloft, 1000 Wii Points)

How are your wallets looking?

There are a few of those I’m interested in, but I’m disappointed because I thought Gyrostarr was a launch title. I’ll at least get LostWinds (very curious about ‘My Life As King’ but it isn’t neccesarily a day one purchase). Suprisingly I’m thinking about the Blackjack too because, well, I like Blackjack. Plus I know someone who might have fun playing a game like that when they come over here. I was reading that VC Reviews site…there are all these people there whining. The thing is, as with VC titles, you aren’t going to be excited every single week, but all the same, each of these titles is going to interest SOMEONE even if it isn’t you.

Do people do this for X-Box Live downloads too?

There are in reality only a handful of VC games I would consider buying that have yet to be released…Meanwhile, there are potentially many Wii Ware titles that I might consider buying. I’ve got Super Metroid, so I say ‘bring on the Wiiware!’ We’ve got 6 releases this week.
