Cheaters plague Mario Kart online…again

It was inevitable: cheaters are now running amuck on Mario Kart Wii, getting nearly impossible records in time trials. Cheaters were the sole reason behind my ruined MKDS experience and now its seems that the Wii will suffer from the same problem unless Nintendo does something about it.

I’ve only seen it on the Snowboard track – a guy with a time of 53 point something or other seconds. There are about three other people with exactly the same time. Like others have said, on the replay the guy just does one lap (excrutiatingly slowly) and then turns the opposite way just after the finish line. Then the replay doesn’t stop. Personally, I think its a bug. I’ve only seen it on one track and there are others with the same time.

Nintendo’s online resume is less than stellar, so here’s to hoping this situation is handled quickly without any deaths…I mean bans.

Personally I've seen it on nearly every tournament that has been played in my brief time of having the Wii hooked up to router.

For instance. 6 spinner guys knocked off the space station thing that you are driving on. Record is 16 seconds. This means you have to knock off 2 every 5+ seconds. Seriously? It takes longer than that to get the required powerups to knock them off. I saw my son do one (and he is very fast) in 9 seconds. That's 54 overall if the average stays 9 seconds. I think you could knock of more than 1 at a time and maybe trick them into chasing you and falling off but 16 seconds?

I've also seen track races in tournament where you can't even get around the track as fast as the record and you have to knock destroy things.
