Broken DS screen? Fix it up for less than [insert life savings here]!
Is your DS out of warranty and you have a broken screen? Don’t worry, people, there is a solution. Fix it yourself! All you need is a new screen ($10), a screwdriver, and some patience and you’ll have yourself a brand-spanking new DS in no time. No mailing it in, no professional work needed. You can do it all, provided that you don’t screw it up.
Just one warning: if your DS isn’t out of warranty and you choose this route instead of sending your DS to a Nintendo repair shop, you’ll be voiding its warranty. So, again, be careful.
