EA announces European Rock Band release date

080408sadrockband.jpgFinally! EA has announced a European release date for Rock Band, assigning its overseas birth to May 23rd. However, in Europe the game will be sold separate from the instruments. The instruments will run you €169.99 along with the game, which is priced at €69.99.

With good news, must come the bad: that’s the release date for the Xbox 360 version.

Wii, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 owners will all have to wait until “summer.” A bit vague, yes, but it’s something we can work with. More bad, unrelated Wii news: all U.S.-released downloadable content will be available at launch, and Europe will have their own exclusive downloadable tracks. Hit the jump for the tracks that will one day be released as DLC on the Wii… I hope.

Christ on a bicycle that’s expensive. Surely that’s the price for the 360 version too? how could the game alone cost ~£55 (or $110)??

  • Robert

The game and instruments when purchased together cost around 380 American dollars. Things are generally more expensive overseas, especially w/ the weak American dollar, but that’s steep.

Well, that confirms it, I’ll be importing a PS3 copy for about £90.

    Europe sucks!

thats exactly what i was afraid off, this really is just bull, there will never be another rock band game released in europe after this, cause nobody will be willing to pay that much for 1 game. My wii cost me less then that ffs
