Wii Wheel will be sold separately
Those of you with in-real-life friends will be happy to hear that the Wii Wheel – which will already be bundled with your Mario Kart Wii purchase – will be sold separately for $14.99. A rather expensive price for a cheap piece of plastic, yes, but who doesn’t love the waggle? Those of you who have gotten over the Wii’s novelty control scheme will be happy to hear that for only $5 more you can purchase a GameCube controller, which works for both Mario Kart Wii and, of course, Smash Bros. Brawl.
Since the majority of hardcore Brawl users prefer the GameCube controller over any other control scheme available, let me ask you this: What will you be using to get your drive on? The Wii Wheel, GameCube controller or the Wii Remote by itself?

It’s time to move on…I will be using the Wii Remote…
I’ll probably just use the Wiimote. I can’t see the wheel adding a whole lot to the experience, and there’s really no need to use the Game Cube controller for it. It’s not like racing games have complicated controls.
Wii-mote and maybe the wheel that comes with it every now and then. Also don’t you mean $14.99?
Wiimote and wheel, and maybe sometimes the GC controller, just for nostalgia’s sake.

I dunno about that. I’ve been Smashing since the 64 days, and though I grew accustomed to the GameCube controls in 2001, I find the Wiimote/Nunchuk variety gives it a similar layout with a freer feel. Granted, you have to press right on the D-pad to throw (instead of Z with your right pointer), but it’s a short hop for your thumb, now that you have quick access to A and B with your right pointer and thumb. Plus, who doesn’t love the characters talking to you through the Wiimote? Perhaps I’m just too lazy to be unplugging and replugging my Wavebird receivers all the time. Though it’s not like I’ve been playing anything BESIDES Smashy Smash for the past few weeks. My ol’ plastic guitar is gettin’ dusty.
As for Mario Kart, definitely just the Wiimote. If you want freedom, can’t get any lighter than that. Wiiiii!!!
Doesn’t Wii Remote+Nunchuck give the feel of the NINTENDO 64 controller? I must try it!!!
Well put, DrDew. I’m a strong proponent of the Nunchuk configuration.
