This should please some of the people posting on the wall of our Nintendo Wii group on Facebook. If you’ve been keeping up with the Wii-k in Review/Nintendo Voice Chat podcast the previous two weeks, you’ll note that Casamassina has all but confirmed the coming of a brand new Kid Icarus game for the Wii.
- In the Wii-k in Review for March 10, he teases heavily around 30:05 about a game from Nintendo that he and Craig will be trying out soon that they know gamers will be psyched about. Mark Bozon realizes what they’re teasing about, and agrees that he’s really excited for 2008.
- In the same podcast, Matt answers reader questions. At 44:12, he responds to a question about the chances for certain franchises to see new games this year. He gives a solid “absolutely” to Kid Icarus, prompting Bozon to laugh and say “cue the phone call from Reggie.”
- In the Nintendo Voice Chat for March 17, Casamassina comments around 12:42 on the big game supposedly being announced at E3. He says Reggie may or may not be referring to Kid Icarus, but regardless, they know a Kid Icarus Wii game exists. Around 13:50, they talk about not wanting the “big game” to be Kid Icarus, because they already know KI is coming, and they want to see something new.
That enough fuel on the fire for you? It’s not an official word from Nintendo, but this is about as close as you’re going to get until Nintendo finally pulls the curtains to the side!
