Guitar Hero: On Tour priced and dated?

Published by matthew at 2:02 am under Nintendo DS

51eznfwwxl_ss400_.jpgWhile doing some late-night Amazon browsing, I came across the product page for Guitar Hero: On Tour.

Amazon is listing a June 22 release date for North America, while Gamestop’s site is touting a June 29 ship date. Not being one to choose sides, Red Octane is simply just giving “June 2008″ as the release date.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), everybody has agreed on the price of $50. I guess $15 for the peripheral isn’t too bad, except for the fact that this game shouldn’t even exist in the first place. But who cares what I think- would you pay $50 for this game?

I’m sure there are people out there who don’t own any of the main consoles, and hasn’t had a chance to pick up GHIII, or any of the previous installments.

But for someone like me, who owns both Rock Band and GHIII, there’s just no point. The only thing that would make me consider picking this up is an amazing song list.

Ahh come on, you guys are being a little harsh. There is a population that would like a portable version of this game, regardless if they have it on main consoles. Not to mention that you actually get to “pick” instead of “clicking” a white clicker. While the $50 price tag will not stop me from getting this title, I will admit that it is pretty steep.

they should of made the Guitar Hero controller able to plug into the DS .

like if you were lugging around a portable amp

Guitar Hero with no guitar seems………..lame

i plan on picking this up, but do you think the peripheral will plug into the original DS?

  5. # TheDiabolicalon 21 Mar 2008 at 12:57 pm

it plugs into the GBA slot

i know it plugs into the GBA slot, but on the DS Lite, the GBA games stick out and on the original DS, the game is inserted all the way into the console…so in order for it to work on the original DS, the plug would have to be longer, right?

You’re absolutely right, and I’m not sure..

My initial prediction would be, no, it will not work with the original DS. Very likely I’m wrong, but it seems redundant to design a peripheral that is already kind of big, bigger, to support what is an all but dead first generation handheld. :(

Still, they’d be alienating a group of people that still have DS Phats.

well, this may be my excuse to buy a DS Lite…but i kinda like my phat…I’ve had it since it came out and have never had problem with it…it’s pretty much a tank and can hadle anything I’ve thrown at it…from what I’ve heard, the DS Lite isn’t quite as durable…

While not as durable, the jump from a DS phat to a DS lite is considerable. If not just for the brighter screens, go for it because of the fact that it doesn’t feel awkward in a normal sized pocket.

well, i don’t normally carry it in a pocket, so i would prolly keep the same case that i use for my phat, but i’m a bigger guy (about 6′ 4″) and the phat seems to fit in my hands better…i do like the improved screen brightness though…this will be a trade-off if i decide to upgrade…
