@ Michael.
I'm pretty sure that Sonic Team is aware of the criticisms that many of the recent Sonic titles have received. (After all, the average score for Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360 and PS3 was well below the 50% range.)

The only thing that is REALLY concerning to me is the fact that they never really seem to address these problems in the next title. If you go back and look at almost any critic's review of Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, or the more recent Sonic the Hedgehog, you will notice a lot of repetition in their issues with these games.

So why is it that Sonic has not reach his former level of quality after years of professional critics offering very good advice for the franchise? I hate to say it, but I think it may be because the sales have been relatively high for the series, despite the repetitive flaws. That is why I have made it my personal mission not to purchase another Sonic title until Sega wakes up and smells the coffee, and takes the much needed time and effort to do a 3D Sonic game the right way.

Good read. I would be all over a return to a simplistic Sonic game. I think the DS lends itself pretty well to that right now, but I would definitely like to see a full-blown Wii game.

Actually, a PS3 or 360 version would be pretty cool with detailed backgrounds. Either way, I hope Sonic Team has been listening..

Sonic is slowly but surely heading in the right direction. Sonic and the Secret Rings wasn't perfect by any means, but it was arguably the best 3-D Sonic since SA2. The Rush series has also proven that Sonic's still got it. The upcoming Bioware RPG will be a refreshing change too. As far as the pinnacle of the series go: Sonic 2, 3, S&K or Sonic CD are the worthy candidates.

@mitchr90
Unfortunately, the atrocious Sonic the Hedgehog on the 360/PS3 is most likely closest as you'll ever get to a Sonic Adventure 3... I hope I'm wrong =P

Sure, I say that it should stay a Nintendo-exclusive series, hell...they could even have some of the Nintendo Big Wigs help out with new fresh ideas. Not to mention that Sega and Nintendo have always been about the games, while other consoles are moving into "All-In-One" territory.

i dont think there was anything wrong with sonic adventure 2. it was a fast paced platforming game with good controls and a killer soundtrack. speaking of which, why dont they ever make a sonic adventure 3?
