There was nothing more annoying when playing a game of Mario Kart DS online and one of your opponents spasmed his/her way around the track, lapping you withing second just because they were amazing at snaking. Nevermind the fact that I was a snaker, too – I was never that good at it.
Thankfully, the Official Nintendo Magazine has tried the game out and confirmed that snaking has been removed from the series.
“The second big difference (in Mario Kart Wii compared to the rest of the series) is the removal of snaking. Ever since the N64 game, practically every Mario Kart game has included the ability to get a speed boost by waggling the controls left and right as you powerslide. This has finally been scrapped, and now your speed boost is determined by how long you can hold the slide.”
What? You mean we have to control it like an actual car now?
