No, Nintendo’s two-screened handheld isn’t making an appearance on Double Dare, what I’m talking about is a brand new title from Southpeak Games that will grace the DS this April. Mister Slime is a 2-D side scrolling adventure designed primarily to take advantage of the DS’s unique functionality.

The player takes control of the gelatin-based hero and stretches, pulls, and prods their way through the game. Physics, combined with the inherent elasticity of slime, give the player a fun and new take on an otherwise old formula. Sounds a little like the brain child of Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime and Kirby Canvas Curse, which is okay with me. There is potential for some refreshing gameplay, but time will tell if the game stretches outside the box to offer up something new.
