New info on Sonic’s touch based adventure
NGamer magazine spills a few details regarding Bioware’s Sonic RPG, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, saying that the project makes use of the touch screen extensively in all aspects of the game. For instance, controlling your character, by tapping various objects, ex. loop-de-loops and spring-boards, Sonic will perform the action associated with it. Each character can perform specific actions with specific objects, and each character has their own strengths. Which, if used properly, will allow the player to make progress.
The battle system is very similar to Mario and Luigi’s RPG outings, composed of turn-based combat along with skill based mini-games to spice things up.
Bioware has decided to go with a more linear storyline in Sonic Chronicles, rather than the complex and twisting adventures seen in Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire. Conversation can still be altered depending on the player’s preference, a mainstay in Bioware’s adventures, but it will always lead players to the same endgame conclusion.
Update: Head past the break for some new screenshots of the game.

I’m truly most excited for this game more than any other game of 2008, besides Brawl of course….which should have been 2007.
