Before Wii Fit lands in Europe on 25 April, and before Super Smash Bros. Brawl hits this summer, you’ll be able to burn rubber in Mario Kart Wii. A European launch date of 11 April has been confirmed by Nintendo of Europe.

“Mario Kart Wii is an eagerly anticipated launch for Europe and we are confident that all those who have enjoyed playing previous Mario Kart games, in particular the Nintendo DS version will be pleased and looking forward to its arrival. Mario Kart Wii encompasses the core spirit of Mario Kart: an incredibly rich and deep gameplay experience that provides never ending fun. And with the Wii Wheel, every member of the whole family will feel comfortable to join in and experience kart racing regardless of whether they are a karting champion or a complete new beginner. With the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service also allowing friends and family to compete around the globe, we are confident that Mario Kart fans won’t be left disappointed with this installment exclusively on Wii.” – Laurent Fischer, Nintendo of Europe

So, Europe will be throwing their share of Koopa shells, complete with up to 12 players online by 11 April. Japan gets their chance on April 10th, and Australia should follow later in the month. Looks like everyone’s got a set release for the game now… oh, wait.

well we had to get something before the US, about time too!

I think they will release it later in the US cause they are unlikely to release 2 AAA titles side by side taking sales from each other, by the time it comes out in Japan the buzz from brawl will have just died down, were as Europe didn’t have brawl yet at all. So because the US got brawl they will now wait to release mario kart until brawl sales start to go south if they ever do lol
