Welcome to the day of golden deals!

Published by matthew at 10:51 am under Deals, Wii

Hooray for Friday! For today only, Amazon is offering five Wii games at significantly reduced prices. While the deal of the day, Super Paper Mario, will be available throughout the entire day, the other four games will be revealed in four hour increments.

See the new Amazon widget to the right? Keep an eye on that throughout the day, as the four “lightning deal” games will be revealed through the widget in real time. While none of the four games are available at this time, Amazon is offering clues for each title:

  • An epic tale of swords and beasts for fantasy and role-playing Wii gamers.
  • A must-have game for sci-fi-loving Wii owners.
  • Move to town, turn it around, and make it bustle with life. A sim-ple pleasure!
  • You’ll have big super happy fun fun with this Wii classic.

If my own guesses are correct, then we are going to be in for some great deals. I won’t spoil the fun for everyone by sharing my predictions, but feel free to speculate in the comments.

If you’re in the spending mood today, you can combine items from The Tanooki Online Store with today’s deals for total shopping bliss! Now, excuse me as I sit and watch the countdown clocks throughout the entire day.

Update: Wow, these deals are going by fast. If you missed out on Super Paper Mario, Amazon added a new deal of the day- Manhunt 2, which is available in The Tanooki Online Store.

My guesses for the four clues are:

    - Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn (already revealed)
    - Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
    - MySims
    and
    -Wario Ware: Smooth Moves

    Where’s the clock?

  3. # puwayt5on 22 Feb 2008 at 12:10 pm

    Pacific Standard Time, I think?

  4. # matthewon 22 Feb 2008 at 12:31 pm

The clocks are in the widget under lightning deals.

Fire Emblem was sold out before I was even able to see the price of it- did anybody catch the price?

  6. # drktrpr1on 22 Feb 2008 at 1:46 pm

$30 for Fire Emblem and Metroid Prime 3…Fire Emblem sold out in 2 minutes, Metroid sold out in less than one.

Not too shabby for the prices, but lame for how quick they sold out. Anybody get a chance to pick up one of the games?

  8. # Michaelon 22 Feb 2008 at 2:49 pm

    1 minute? That’s pretty ridiculous..

  9. # drktrpr1on 22 Feb 2008 at 3:10 pm

I’ve already got both, or else I would have picked them up. I’ll be around for the 5:00 (EST) deal, which is most likely MySims, so I’ll check it out.

    @ drktrpr1

That’s my problem, every game that has been on sale is already in my library. I’m also thinking about MySims….Hope I can get in that one minute barrier….

11 minutes until the deal goes online- let’s see how long it lasts.

Man, should have bought Fire Emblem:Radiant Dawn…. superluigi wanted Metroid Prime 3 Curroption. Man, I had the money! I just know that I should buy Fire Emblem: Dawn of Radiance first, though…. superluigi wanted metroid 3 for his birthday…..why……..

  13. # Ryanon 22 Feb 2008 at 10:06 pm

Dude, the last game was such a disappointment….

  14. # robertj15on 23 Feb 2008 at 7:29 am

Even the bad games (ie: MySims) sold out in seconds.

  15. # helper187on 23 Feb 2008 at 6:18 pm

    What was the last game?

  16. # helper187on 23 Feb 2008 at 6:18 pm

    Was it Manhunt 2?

  17. # drktrpr1on 23 Feb 2008 at 6:49 pm

It was the Simpsons game. Manhunt 2 was the second “deal of the day”.

  18. # helper187on 25 Feb 2008 at 1:10 pm

Sorry, I knew it was the 2nd deal of the day, but wasn’t sure if it could possibly one of the lightning deals. I can’t believe the last game was The Simpsons Game! “What a dissapoitment”, Indeed!
