RUMOR: Activision to bring drum and mic peripherals to Guitar Hero?
The title might say Guitar Hero, but if Best Buy’s product description for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith has its way, the game could soon be titled Guitar/Drum/Microphone Hero: Aerosmith.
See what it was like for these once-unknown musicians to skyrocket to stardom in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. This adventure for the amazing Guitar Hero series lets you drum like Joey Kramer, wield an axe like Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, bring up the bottom like bassman Tom Hamilton and belt out vocals like the legendary Steven Tyler.
Given the tremendous dose of awesome that the rhythm genre received with Rock Band, I will not be surprised if Activision’s golden boy begins to dabble into the world of drums and singing. And since this is a game about Aerosmith and not just Joe Perry, it would make sense for players to grab a mic and belt out one of my least favorite songs of all-time.
We will continue to look into this rumor, but for now, let’s try not to take a product description from Best Buy too seriously.

Ew, I hate that song too. Played at all the stupid school dances in 7th grade! Blah.
I don’t think that this is too good of an idea. I know that Rock Band has done amazing with its sales and everything, but why should GUtar hero change its formula with it still doing so well?
Yeah I hope this doesn’t turn out true. I’d like Guitar Hero to stay Guitar Hero and Rock Band to keep on being Rock Band.
