Mario leaves Nintendo; NES characters flock to open tryout
If there was ever an “only for the weekend” type of video, this would be it. As we all know, Mario’s recent mushroom addiction caused him to finally get the boot from Nintendo. Outraged at the situation, Mario stormed off the set of Mario Kart Wii, leaving Luigi to fend for himself. Luigi later fell off of Rainbow Road following a slippery encounter with a banana peel. We haven’t heard from him since.
A few days ago, Nintendo conducted an open tryout for anybody interested in filling the shoes of the once legendary mascot. The only stipulation: get through level 1-1. The character to finish last becomes the new Luigi.
