Call of Duty 5 coming to Wii; will be nothing like Call of Duty 4

A recent Activision conference call reminded us that Call of Duty 5 will be released sometime this year. No surprise there, but Activision announced that along with the PS3 and 360 releases, the game will also be heading to the Wii.

Details are scarce about the upcoming game, but we’ve heard that the setting will return to WWII (most likely the Pacific) and that Call of Duty 3 developer, Treyarch, will be taking the reigns once again.

If this speculation is true, then those of you looking for an excellent modern day shooter might want to consider (or continue playing) Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4. But if World War II shooters are your kind of bag, then stay tuned for more information on Call of Duty 5 when it becomes available.

I agree, although there will be people who want to buy Call of Duty 5, mainly the series' biggest fans. But the series is going nowhere if they don't give developers enough time to do something significant with each release.

Treyarch is going to murder COD5.

Also, I hate how Activision is now going down the "EA release route;" where they release the same titles year after year after year with minimal to no adjustments whatsoever.
