It’s what sure to surprise every single one of you, Shigeru Miyamoto is considering what’s next for two of Nintendo’s oldest and greatest franchises. He’s expressed interest in a sequel for Super Mario Galaxy, though no specific platform was specified. When was the last time we saw two Super Mario platformers on the same home system? Not since Mario went 3D, that’s for sure.
Next up, Shiggy’s thinking about where The Legend of Zelda could go next, since Twilight Princess was supposedly the last game to be made in the mold of Ocarina of Time. Whether or not Eiji Aonuma will be in the director’s chair again is unknown, but you can bet he’s in on discussions. Of course, seeing as it’s been almost four years since Twilight Princess was unveiled (and well into the development cycle at the time), I’d be surprised if we didn’t see a trailer by the end of the year.
In other news, Miyamoto promised that if Wii Fit does well internationally, Nintendo will continue to support the Balance Board with more games designed for it.
