It’s always fun to see some of the patent designs that come out of Nintendo that never make it. They make you wonder why Nintendo chose not to make them. Take the images in the gallery after the break for example. Why didn’t Nintendo use the original Wii Zapper design? Or even the NES Zapper design with the inserted Wii remote?
Then there are the designs that would have been huge hits on the market. Nintendo thought up everything from helmets, to bikes and skateboards, to power gloves, to teddy bears. That’s right, teddy bears. I would have been all over that one.
Imagine if these patents were discovered around the time we heard about the “Wii” name. Anyway, thanks to everyone that e-mailed us about these.
