No Fire Emblem or EarthBound demos in Brawl outside of Japan

It was recently revealed that Super Smash Bros. Brawl would include playable demos of Virtual Console games. Those demos will give players a chance to relive the original games that Brawl‘s cast came from. Unfortunately, according to the game’s official site, it looks like the Japanese version will include more demos than the rest of the world.

The Japanese version of the site reveals Fire Emblem‘s third game and first arrival on the Super Famicom, Fire Emblem: Monsh? no Nazo (“Mystery of the Emblem”), as an available demo. Also available to the Japanese is Mother 2, released outside of Japan as “EarthBound.”

Since EarthBound was released outside of Japan, this debunks the “Japan-only game” theory. Instead, they may just not be options because neither game is currently on the VC outside of Japan. Hopefully the non-Japanese print of Brawl is already pre-designed to show these games should they be put on the Virtual Console in the future. I’ll throw a fit if they aren’t. Thanks to Kuefler for the tip.
