Ness is an unlockable character in Brawl, but his appearance in the opening movie will easily let fans know that he’s back for for. He’s unlocked by playing five matches and facing him, reflecting ten projectiles and facing him, or by getting him to join your team in Adventure Mode.
His moves are essentially the same as before, and he differs from Lucas in ways that you can read about after the break. Yes, one’s pretty much a clone of the other.
- PK Thunder – Ness’ PK Thunder is fully absorbed by opponents while Lucas’ passes through them. Ness’ is fast and harder to control, and when used to propel Ness into opponents, the opponent takes one big blow compared to a series of less powerful hits with Lucas.
- Ness’ bat has a longer startup time compared to Lucas’ stick, but packs more of a punch.
- Ness has a yo-yo.
