Microphone packaging hints at Wii version of Rock Band

Given Nintendo’s current place in the market and the phenomenal success of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Rock Band on the Wii just makes sense. However, no matter how hard we try, EA refuses to confirm that the inevitable Wii version is in the works.

Earlier today, I stumbled across the newly released microphone for Rock Band while picking up The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters at Best Buy. When closely examined, the packaging shows us that the USB microphone will work with not only the PS3 and 360 versions of the game, but also the Wii version.

Since the packaging states that the microphone is “four” the Wii, it’s easy to cast this aside as a simple misprint. However, the packaging advertises Wii compatibility not once, not twice, but three times. As pictured above, the packaging even includes a photo of the Wii. I might be wrong, but misprints usually don’t occur in photo form.

While Rockband would be amazing on the Wii, let’s not forget that “Boogie” uses a microphone…maybe the microphone is just compatable with the Wii for Boogie…HOWEVER, I do see that the package and microphone say “Rockband.” That’s just my guess though, because I would think that EA would want to release information of some sort with reguards to Rockband for Wii…

Interesting point, but if EA wanted an official Rock Band microphone to be compatible on the Wii just for Boogie, they probably would say so on the packaging.

If there is one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that breaking news is usually a result of some sort of simple mistake.

yea…that’s true too, but nonetheless, it will probably work with Boogie one way or the other…

Actually, I think most USB mics should work with Boogie/Rock Band. I’ll test out mine later tonight with my 360 version of Rock Band.

I believe the Mic for Boogie and Rock Band are one in the same, seeing as how they were both developed by EA.

I hope this is true. I want some Rock Band action on Wii. It would go along with my copy of GHIII quite nicely.
