Nintendo games are too difficult to compete with

080127mizuguchi.jpgWe may have to wait a little longer for any type of Space Channel 5 game on the Wii… at least from the original game’s director, Tetsuya Mizuguchi. He’s interested in making games for the platform, but worried about competing with the likes of Mario and Wii Fit. Check out what he had to say in a recent interview:

In general, maybe not this game, but what do you think about making games for the Wii?

Wii is a very unique platform. I have no projects yet, but I feel it’s very unique. I’m a little bit anxious about Nintendo platforms, as Nintendo games are too strong. I’m a little bit worried about that.

Is he right? What percentage of your Wii games are published by Nintendo?

Check that, I actually have one made by EA as well.

I have 11 games from Nintendo, 3 from Capcom, 2 from Activision, 2 from Ubisoft and 1 from Konami and Sega each. Yes a majority of my Wii games are from Nintendo, and that directly relates to the quality of games. Capcom has done pretty well as a third party in my opinion, which is why I bought Zak and Wiki, RE4 and RE:UC. Plus Virtual Console games, and games that I plan on buying soon, those numbers will really continue to grow.

it is true but when a gem comes along that is third party i try to get all of my friends to buy, so i'm proud that i've talked three friends into buying No More Heroes which i'm thoroughly enjoying as of now.
