U2 to star in Guitar Hero sequel?
While flipping through my new EGM, I stumbled across the following tidbit in this month’s Rumor Mill:
We already know GH4 is on its way (as well as a game based on the band Aerosmith), but I’m hearing two more Guitar Hero titles are also in the works, brining GH3’s sequel count to four. And one may star a group that rocks in mysterious ways.
Unless I am totally off my rocker, U2 seems like the most likely band to fit that cateogory considering the song “Mysterious Ways” is a track off their 1991 album, Achtung Baby.
Am I a fan of Aerosmith and U2 possibly getting their own dedicated Guitar Hero games? No, but with full album downloads coming to Rock Band and these rumored band-dedicated Guitar Hero titles, it’s exciting to see the music game genre evolve into an important medium in the music industry.

They need to chill out w/ the Guitar Hero franchise. I love it, but they’re going to kill it by releasing so many damn games.

U2 Blows. not only should they not get their own game, but shouldn’t get any songs on any games.
Also, Guitar Hero is way sweeter than Rock band.
I’m the biggest anti-U2/Bono the world savior out there, so in no way am I excited about a U2 solo game.
Idea for Activision: release a really good Guitar Hero 4 that has the U2 and Aerosmith songs, but only the halfway decent ones (aka: the “good” ones) out of the bunch. If you toss 70 or so songs on a disc, people might forgive you for putting a few awful songs in the game.
Or you could release individual discs of each artist and watch your sales drop.
[...] Rumor has it an upcoming Guitar Hero will let you play solely U2 songs. Sunday Bloody Sunday indeed. [...]
